Limited cutting or pruning of greenbelt vegetation

Recommendation

Zoning ordinances will allow for only limited cutting or pruning of vegetation within the greenbelt.

Reasons for Recommendation

Limiting the amount of cutting or pruning of vegetation within the greenbelt ensures that greenbelt plants maintain greater ground coverage to help reduce shoreline erosion, slow stormwater runoff rates, and remain in a healthy condition. Preserving continuous shoreline greenbelts with vegetation that has not been heavily pruned also preserves and enhances views of the shore from the water.
